Video Fab: Sammie- Slow

Remember Sammie from the early 2000's, "I like the way you look at me" "I like the time we spend baby." You know the song. He is still around and making videos. Here is his latest effort.

I hate thieves

I'm feeling a little violated right now. I went into my closet to find one of my favorite shirts and guess what, it's missing. To be honest, my closet feels a lot emptier but I can't pin point if it's because I'm giving stuff away or if someone has sticky fingers. Mind you, this is not the first thing that is missing. I have a pair of black shoes with gold and woodette accents, well I had. They're missing without a trace. I feel violated.

How dare someone come into my house and take my stuff. I don't know who it was. It may be my sisters, even though they've all denied it. Or some stranger. I still live with my parents so this may be one of their friends dirty work. I don't know. I work ten hour days and I don't know what's going on in the house when I'm gone. Excuse the rant but I'm very angry.

I have a strong disdain for thieves. I know it's just a shirt and shoes but it's more than that. It means that someone could disrespect me that much that they would take my things. Having someone steal from you is a violation of your privacy. It makes you feel naked. I know I may be a bit dramatic, but it's true. Stealing is one of the oldest professions. There has always been haves and have nots and people who are willing to steal to have that they think they deserve. Let's face it, not everyone wants to work but they still want to have. I'm going to end this rant with forgiveness.

Behind the Scenes of Nicki Minaj's "Check it Out"

Here is Nicki Minaj on the set of their new video "Check it Out." That's about the just of it. They talk about how great it was to work with each other and Nicki spoke in a british accent.

Rihanna on the set of her new Video

Here are some photos that have been circling the web of rihanna on the the streets of Manhattan shooting her new video this weekend, the video entitled (whats my name) is a classic love story about a guy a a girl who experience love at first sight. the guy in question (Shawn meads ) an up and comming actor form the Valvoline commercial "probably", plays a white dread headed drummer, who roams the streets of New york city, where him and miss RiRi have a few close encounters. They end up in central park in the midst of a drum circle with people dancing around and we must say the entire thing looks great.. Rihanna is seen in this video with her newly adopted red hair and a multi-colored outfit featuring white and black stripes, not quite the "look if the week" but definitely fun and different.
(heres what our Chief editor had to say upon viewing these shots}

"Rihanna and this red hair. Is anyone going to tell her she looks like a clown? I know she's going for the "I'm so different look" but it's not working. I usually love Rihanna's style but this bright red hair is a no-no. Someone please take her and Ameriie to the nearest colorist to fix the mishaps. "

Celebrate You: The Need to be Liked

At one point, everyone has dealt with this need. When we're younger, we aim to fit in so we follow the latest trends and act in a way that is pleasing to others. As we get older, we realize how ridiculous this is and we become individuals. For most of us here, we have a long way to go before we reach that point.

I have dealt with the need to be liked. In fact, I still do. I think that's a part of my nature and one I try to control rigorously because it opens me up to vultures. I've never been very popular and I've always felt like that "spare." All of my sisters are close and I feel like the outsider and when my Dad was married, thank goodness that's over, my stepmom had three kids and it was just me. I wanted to be liked but frankly, I didn't care. I realized they didn't like me and I don't care. The need to be liked is a useless need. We can't please everyone, nor should we want to. The need to be liked has been many a great mans downfall. If you are struggling with this need, give it up. Repeat this mantra to yourself daily: I am fearfully and wonderfully made, God does not make junk. I accept and love myself as I am.

Nike Lava Dunk - Holiday 2010

Nike Sportswear will be releasing a new Lava Dunk for the (2010) holiday season. For those not familiar with Nike's hybrids as of late, the Lava Dunk is a combination of the Nike ACG Air Lava boot and the classic Nike Dunk.

The shoe has some military aesthetics to it, with a grey camouflage print lining, a tongue tag, and a basic outer sole pattern reminiscent of those on the bottom of army boots.

The shoe has a sleek mix of premium leather and rip stop nylon.

As the winter months approach, this will be one to surely catch on. With it's ACG water repellent material, EVA buffed midsole, and boot-like hardware the Lava Dunk will have you prepared for the wrath of Mother Nature.

The Lava Dunk will hit shelves in two colorways, Black and Khaki, when it debuts October 1st.

Basketball Wives Gets a New ExWife

The Basketball Wives is revamping itself for season 2 by adding a new "wife." Tami Roman, 2nd from left in the blue jumpsuit, best known for her stint on the Real World: Los Angeles, is the former wife of Kenny Anderson. In the settlement, Roman took home 5.8 million and $8500 in child support. Sadly, Mr. Anderson fell behind in his payments and had to file for bankruptcy. This should be interesting. (mediaoutrage)

LaLa Covers Rolling Out Magazine

Round One: New Beginnings

Necole Bitchie:
So La La, how does it feel to be a wife?

La La:
It’s definitely a great feeling. Me and Mel [NBA star Carmelo Anthony] have been together for a long time. It was important for us to do this in front of family, friends and our son.

NB: Do you feel more responsibility now that you are a wife?

La La:
Now that I am his wife, I definitely feel a little more responsibility. Now, I have to make sure things are taken care of … but I’ve been doing that throughout our entire relationship anyway. I just think that people look at you differently when you are finally a wife — especially in my situation because I had been engaged for so long, and you heard so many people saying so many different things about it.

NB: Did you feel pressured to get married because of the talk?

La La:
No, not at all. If we [had] felt pressured, we would have done it a long time ago. We’ve been together for seven years, and it took us that long to get married. We never got caught up in that because we knew that we had a strong, solid relationship. Marriage wasn’t something we talked about a lot; we had our son and we were raising him. Finally we both decided that now was the time and we just did it.

NB: How do you balance being friends and being a wife?

La La:
Well, I think it’s a very healthy thing for us to have other friends. It’s also important for us to have independence, and give each other space. Mel and I are not together all the time; we like to give each other space. I think that’s what keeps us going … he’s on the road working, and I’m working. It also gives me plenty of time to be with my son and hang out with my friends. You just wanna stay busy so your dude doesn’t get tired of you.

NB: What do you think about open relationships?

La La:
I wouldn’t want my man sleeping around with other people. Even if he told me, I would not be OK with that. I do know people who do it, and it works for them. I think you have to have a lot of confidence, and be very secure in your relationship to allow each other to stray and do different things. That just wouldn’t work for me though.

NB: What about divorce?

La La:
If two people aren’t happy, then they shouldn’t be together. I think that in life you see so many people staying in relationships and they are miserable. I know so many people — friends and family ... [that] either don’t want a divorce or to be by themselves. I think that if you and the person have tried to make it work and it’s not healthy for you or them, get out of it. If you’re not happy, you simply should not be with that person.

NB: So you wouldn’t stay in a loveless marriage for the sake of your child?

La La: No I would not, because I feel like if I’m not happy in my household, then my son is not going to be happy either. My energy and vibe is going to reflect on him, and I don’t want that. But even outside of that, I certainly wouldn’t want to stay in any situation if I wasn’t happy.

Round 2: La La’s Full Court Wedding
The conversation would eventually leave La La the wife and mother, and focus on her as an entrepreneur. As a television personality and head of her own production company, there has never been a dull moment in the professional life of Vazquez. And now that her VH1 reality show “La La’s Full Court Wedding” has made a successful premiere, the opportunity to make even greater strides in the entertainment world appears to be well within her grasp. The pair discussed as much.

NB: Everyone has been talking about your new reality show on VH1. Tell me about it.

La La:
My new reality show is [about] the events leading up to my wedding. So it’s me working out, hanging with my friends, and getting advice from people like Ludacris, who is like a brother to me. So it’s me, Kelly [Rowland], Kim [Kardashian], Ciara — all of us are going through this journey leading up to me getting married. Then you actually get to see bits of the actual wedding. I think this show gives you an inside look at my life: me as a mom, a friend, a career woman … me as everything! I’m excited about it premiering September 19 on VH1.

NB: What were your thoughts on celebrities doing reality shows?

La La:
I’m not against reality shows if you’re doing what you wanna do. But I’m not necessarily for just going out there and being crazy just for TV. For me, I wanted to do it because it gives people an inside glimpse into who I am, and I think there are so many questions out there about who La La is. Well, watching my show solves all of those questions. It’s a fun time, and I thought it would be cool to invite the audience in on the fun.

NB: I also hear that you are producing another reality show with basketball players.

La La:
We have a group of basketball players going around dating and looking for love. The goal of the show is to showcase women who are attracted to athletes, because I think it’s a very specific type of woman. We are quick to call them groupies or what have you, but a lot of times, these women are career-driven women running companies — not just people who don’t do anything all day trying to make a come up. You also get to see women who say, ‘I would never date a basketball player’ … kind of like I did, and then they end up with one.

NB: What do you say to people who won’t date an athlete or celebrity because they think they might cheat?

La La:
It doesn’t matter what career a person has … if they are going to cheat, they will do it anyway. So go for it, don’t let the career title be a hindrance. Even if you have a working guy, if he wants to cheat, he is going to go out and do that. Now it’s true that athletes have more access, but a man is going to do what he wants to do. As long as you know that — stepping into a situation, and you know what you can and cannot put up with, then you’ll be fine.

NB: So where do you see La La in five years?

La La:
I really hope to be acting. I’m producing a movie right now with Brett Ratner, and I’m really excited about that. There is so much work that I want to do with my production company … and it will get done … but I’m really focused on my acting craft.

NB: Thank you for your time. On behalf of rolling out, we really appreciate it.

La La:
No, thank you.

Fever Shoes by Natischa Harvey

Since the fellas have been getting so much love for the past couple days, I'd thought I'd give the ladies a shoegasm with Fever Shoes by Natischa Harvey. You can get the studded Tiff shoes for $200 at fevershoes.com

Jay-Z's Decoded Book

Shawn Carter and (one of my favorite people on twitter) Dream Hampton set to release Jay-Z's intimate memoir/lyric book Decoded in November. What-in-the-what is that cover you ask? Well, it is an image from Andy Warhol's 1984 "Rorschach" paintings. What is the book about? Here's an excerpt and explanation:

“When I first started working on this book, I told my editor that I wanted it to do three important things. The first was to make the case that hip-hop lyrics—not just my lyrics, but those of every great MC—are poetry if you look at them closely enough. The second was I wanted the book to tell a little bit of the story of my generation, to show the context for the choices we made at a violent and chaotic crossroads in recent history. And the third piece was that I wanted the book to show how hip-hop created a way to take a very specific and powerful experience and turn it into a story that everyone in the world could feel and relate to.” - Jay-Z

Publisher Spiegel & Grau, an imprint of the Random House Publishing Group plan to release the 336-page Decoded as an eBook, iPhone/iPad application, and hardback on November 16th.

Nicki Minaj - "Right Thru Me"

Nicki Minaj - "Right Thru Me" by http://soundcloud.com/viimag

How does it sound? Hear it straight from the horse's Barbie's mouth.

"I have a record called 'Right Through Me' that I think will be a standout...It's not gonna come right now. It'll come closer to when the album drops, but it's a really, really pretty song. Everyone's gonna like it...It's just really insightful but in a very conversational kind of way." - Nicki Minaj (via MTV)
