LimeWire No More?
The company behind file-sharing client LimeWire has been served.
The makers of the peer-to-peer program has been ordered to shut down pivotal features of their Limewire software after an injunction by a US district court that went into effect Monday (October 25th, 2010).
This ends an ongoing four-year feud between The LimeWire Group and the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
The ruling, issued by officials at the U.S. District Court in New York, have required LimeWire to "stop distributing and supporting its file-sharing software", adding that "downloading or sharing copyrighted content without authorization is illegal".
The company has been forced to disable all searching, downloading, uploading, and file-trading functions of their LimeWire service.
The people behind LimeWire have released a statement regarding plans on working on a new music service that promises to put the user "back at the centre" of the digital music experience:
"During this challenging time, we are excited about the future. The injunction applies only to the LimeWire product. Our company remains open for business. We remain deeply committed to working with the music industry and making the act of loving music more fulfilling for everyone - including artists, songwriters, publishers, labels, and of course music fans.
"Our team of technologists and music enthusiasts is creating a completely new music service that puts you back at the center of your digital music experience."
Well, there goes downloading "__INSERT ARTIST HERE__"'s album. Hey buddy, don't act like you don't do it.

Nicki Minaj feat. Will.I.Am - "Check It Out" feat. Will.I.Am / "Right Through Me"
Harajuku Barbie and Will.I.Am release their new video for "Check It Out" feat. Will.I.Am. While Harajuku is known as being a significant fashion and shopping region in Tokyo, Nicki is actually using Korean extras and text in this video. Can't say YMCMB aren't utilizing their market.
*With all of the flack Will.I.Am got from his outfit at the VMAs, I wonder if critics will say anything about his "whiteface" in the video, lol.
Update:
Nicki dropped her "Right Through Me" video shortly after "Check It Out" yesterday. With smart moves like this, why all the worrying Onika?
"She was worrying about first week. She was like, 'Drake sold [463,000]. What you think I'ma sell? As if she gon' sell less," recalls (Mack)Maine. "I explained to her, 'You know a lot of the press and the media really got it brainwashed with first week sales.' Bieber went on to sell 2 million and Bieber might have only sold 17,000 the first week. Juvenile sold like 30,000 his first week of 400 Degreez and went on to sell 6 million...I don't know what happened to working the record and making sure that the artist reaches a certain point."(VIBE)
Good point Mack, whatever happened to that??
If some of her recent Pink Friday material seems a little too...(eh)POPpy for your ears, Maine says don't fret...
"I heard the majority of the album. Nicki's talented so I made sure she still put something on there for the urban audience, so it's not all pop," added Maine. "Nicki can sing, rap, she just giving you what she feel like giving you. It's diverse, she's versatile--she's been there. Everyone's loving the 'Right Through Me' record...There's no reason to be nervous. Basically, right now, there's no competition. I think confidence kills nervousness. She is the one. All eyes [are] on Nicki so all she really has to do is do her. It's not an act. When you doing you, it's nothing you can mess up at because you're being yourself. She's found herself, she's found her lane, so there's not really too much to be nervous about." (VIBE)
Nicki's Pink Friday album drops on November 22nd.

Lupe Fiasco vs. MTV
Wasalu, Wasalu.
After the fan's petition for the release of Lasers in front of Atlantic Records was a success, I would have thought there are no other hurdles in the way for Carrera Lu.
Maybe I spoke to fast.
MTV took it in their hands this morning to make a 10 Tips To Make Lasers Successful list that didn't sit to well with Lupe. In turn, Lupe took to Twitter to air out his frustrations with Viacom's darling love child.
"Oh snap…MTV (illuminati’s favorite network) back on the attack…why can’t y’all just chill out? Salacious banality @ the speed of light? I think I’ve been very good natured with you. I personally know several employees of your company. You guys know me as well. I’m confused. Where is the true music journalism??? where is Suchin?!! What happened? Where are the honest critiques of cultural expression? For it’s not about being RIGHT it’s about being HOT Fame over self-awareness and virtue Hedonism over self respect Celebrity over cerebral. A destroying force in our culture and society just like rest of the useless vapid spectacles that pour out of our tv’s and radios.
What are we supposed to be learning from you? What is your point? Do you have a point beyond corporate sponsored distraction? Your a materialistic shell of your former self that can only identify with celebrity pageantry and instant gratification. Corporate garbage pushing plastic lifestyles and wasteful, destructive behavior into the brains of the youth of the world. So when your relevance thins in2 a whisper & the stock price collapses and you have 2 come 2 grips with the mess you made. I’ll be here 4 ya. We’ll be here. With hands full of baby powder 2 smack some sense back into your body & a warm shoulder to cry on. We want the REAL MTV back!"
I just hope Lasers gets it's release and marketing push like Ms. Greenwald at Atlantic Records promised.

Boundless NY WINTER 2010 Collection - Delivery I
Inspired by an psychedelic journey across America during the mid-seventies, Boundless NY's first official collection mixes simplicity with dependability.
Boundless NY Winter 2010 collection is reminiscent of American workwear and vintage outdoorsman threads. Reflecting Boundless NY's East Coast sensibilities are references to nature, music, and the spirit of counterculture that adorn the trims, tags, and other visuals of their clothing.
This delivery of the Winter 2010 collection is available at Boundless NY.

Kanye's Teeth Are Diamonds?
first of all we here at VII (seven) magazine are outta the loop cause this definitely slipped right past us.. apparently kanye west has replaced his entire bottom row of teeth with diamond encrusted fake teeth.... or are they real teeth.,. either way here is a pic that Kayne twitted....
kanye even showed up on TV sporting his new teeth... when questioned about it he simpily stated.. "its what rockstars do"
Kanye West explains his new elegant look, his decision to get permanent diamonds in his bottom teeth and learning humility and empathy in a recent interview with Vanity Fair:
L.R. You also have an entirely new, elegant look; you told me you thought that the traditional hip-hop look was tired.
K.W. Yeah, people always dress like they’re headed to the gym.
L.R. Why did you have permanent diamonds drilled into your bottom teeth?
K.W. I just like diamond teeth and I didn’t feel like having to take them out all the time.
L.R: Looking back on last year’s MTV Awards, when you interrupted Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech—you said BeyoncĂ© was robbed, and a lot of us agreed with you. How do you feel about it now?
K.W: Well, it was very punk rock and revolutionary and idealistic and very angry in a way. But the timing was in poor taste. And the other two things I’ve learned since then are humility and empathy—to be empathetic to other people’s feelings. To care about how much this must mean to someone else, and not to think that my ideals or my righteousness are more important than someone else’s feelings.
L.R. You’ve had a tough time since the death of your mother, in 2007. Even though you’re always in recording studios, this past year you retreated from the spotlight. How are you these days?
K.W. Extremely happy. And you know … people obviously know I lost my mother, and it was shocking. On one hand, I never really dealt with the loss, but in not dealing with the loss, I also didn’t completely deal with the responsibilities that my mother used to take. She was such an amazing, well-rounded person, and I was a spoiled brat.

Kanye banned
Apparently the cover for Kanye's next release has been banned.. just when we thought he was steering clear of controversy Kanye later twitted the banned cover of a painting with too monsters in a sexual position. Seriously Kanye... seriously...but hey Outkast has had some racy covers in the past so has Nirvana as Kanye exclaimed on Facebook.
Here is the sledged cover:

Celebrate You: Happy Birthday to Me
Yes, my dear it is my birthday and while I'm really celebrating me, I want you to celebrate you too. It is a blessing to be celebrating my 24th birthday because many people don't get to this milestone but I want you to act like it's your big day also. If this doesn't make sense, please ignore it because I'm working on 5 hours of sleep and I just came back from NY a little over 3 hours ago, so I started driving at 6:00 a.m. But the point of this post is to remind you to move forward. What do most people do on their birthdays? They look at the progress they've made in their lives, make changes, cry about their lives, party, and treat themselves. Why do people only do that once a year? In honor of my birthday, as much as I would love a few hundreds, I want you to look at your life map and see where you are, what changes you can make, and celebrate you. Do something fun for yourself.

Omarion Broke?
Remember a few years back when B2K first broke up and the dissenting 3 members cried broke? Maybe it wasn't a lie. Omarion owes $110,585 in back taxes and may lose his home. Why is it when celebs get money they pay everyone except uncle sam? Who are their people and why isn't anyone telling them to pay their taxes?

Tyler Perry Cancels His Tour
Tyler Perry has cancelled the remaining dates on his Madea's One Big Happy Family tour.
You have no idea how hard this is for me to do but I wanted you to hear it from me first. After 125 performances in 126 days last spring, and doing two movies back-to-back this summer, then coming right back on tour and doing another 30 performances in as many days it’s all become too much. I’m truly so exhausted. So, with that said, unfortunately starting next week, October 19th, I am going to have to cancel some dates of the “encore leg” of the MADEA’s BIG HAPPY FAMILY tour. I know a lot of you worked really hard to buy those tickets and I want to assure you that you will be refunded for the ticket price at your point of purchase.
I feel terrible about this and hope you can understand but right now I’m not capable of giving you the show you want and deserve. I hope one day soon I will be able to make it up to you.I want to thank the nearly 750,000 fans who bought tickets and have crowded these arenas and theaters across the country this year, and made this one of the most special tours I’ve ever had. With me dealing with so much personal grief after the loss of my mother, it could not have come at a better time. You all helped me through it and feeling the love and support of the people who started it all was just what I needed. I felt it and I still do. Thank you.
Tyler
When I first read read this, I nearly died because I have tickets to see this play on Sunday in NYC but we missed the cancellation.
Here are the final dates:
October 24: Norfolk, VA
October 26: Saginaw, MI
October 29: Peoria, IL
October 30: Milwaukee, WI
October 31: Indianapolis, IN
November 3: Austin, TX
November 4: Baton Rouge, LA
November 10-11: North Little Rock, AR
November 13: Southhaven, MS
November 20: Detroit, MI
If you have tickets for any of these dates, call your local arena for a full refund. I think this has to do with promotion of "Colored Girls" Tyler smells Oscar and I'm not mad at him.

Lupe has a SUPER GROUP
The All City Chess Club, which Lupe describes as being more of a movement than a group, consists of himself, Asher Roth, B.o.B, The Cool Kids, Charles Hamilton, Blu, Wale, Diggy, J. Cole, and Pharrell.
“It’s kinda this new vanguard,” Lupe explained in his interview. “The kids who wouldn’t necessarily be the basketball team they would probably be the Chess Club if we was in high school. And I was like ‘Yo, we all from different cities. We the All City Chess Club.’”

Lupe Fiasco Feat. All City Chess Club - I'm Beaming (Remix) by WWW.VIIMAG.COM
Lupe went on to explain the dynamics of the All City Chess Club and its members.
“I just wanted it to be the collective of those dudes and put a name on it,” said Lupe. “Like they already kinda put us all in the same box. They kinda put us in the same family of MC’s whether it be the hipster rappers or the nerd rappers…Since they putting us in a box, might as well own the box. And write our name on the box and paint it the color we want it.”
Lupe also revealed in his interview with Hip-Hop Nation that an All City Chess Club “Beamin” remix is about half-way done.

TV News
Tatyana Ali, who is best known for her role as Ashley Banks on the Fresh Prince of Bel Air, is starring in a new Martin Lawrence produced series called Love that Girl. The show is slated for a January 2011 premiere on TV One. The series originally ran for 4 premiere episodes earlier this year. The show was okay a bit corny but I watched because I'll pretty much watch anything.

The Youth Paradox
I'm beginning to think 24 is the new 30. Let me explain. My birthday is in 5 days and I've been contemplating my fading youth for the last month or so. I've realized I'm not the only one. While perusing the random statuses on Facebook, one of my former classmates pondered his youth in his status.
