Picture of The Day

The shade being thrown at Alicia Keys in this picture snapped at the Chanel Fall 2012/Winter 2013 fashion show in Paris is epic. I love how the people on her right are looking at her. I do love Alicia's hair and make up but she's wearing the plainest outfit ever and she has a big jewel on her forehead. No, that does not make sense.  Then again, Alicia has never been considered a fashion icon.

Alicia Keys is a Mommy

Congrats to Alicia and Swizz who just welcomed a baby boy named Egypt Daoude Dean. We're gonna ignore the name because being a celeb allows weird names.

Celeb Quotes: Mashonda in S2S

Mashonda is covering the September issue of Sister2Sister and she is letting the magazine know about Alicia asking her son to call her Mommy, her disrespect of her, and how she handles Swizz' other baby mamas.

On Alicia Asking Kasseem Jr. to call her “Mommy”:

S2S: You said that
Alicia wanted your baby to call her “mommy”. How do you know that she said that?

Mashonda: My son told me.

S2S: And you told her that is not
going to happen?

Mashonda: Yeah. I sent her an email and asked her to
please respect what I am to him and it’s not right for her to think that is
okay. She never replied. She doesn’t reply to me. She has never given me that
respect.

S2S: What does Swizz say?

Mashonda: He said okay, he
would stop it. He wouldn’t let her do it.

S2S: That would be kind of
confusing for the child.

Mashonda: Oh, it is. It is so unfair to the
child. I have been in contact with the little girls mother (the woman in England
who has Swizz’s baby). She’s a young girl. She’s a spiritual girl. She
apologized to me… I don’t even judge her. I can’t. She’s totally different than
the other one. This other one knew. Alicia knew about me 100 percent. Swizz
introduced me at prior events. They were signed to the same record company. She
knew. And I emailed her and asked her to stop doing what she was doing and she
disregarded me. Just like she disregarded me when I asked her to not have my son
thinking it was okay to call her “umi.” You’re not his umi. You just met my son.

S2S: “Umi” is like “mommy”?

Mashonda: “Umi” means “mommy” in
Arabic. I’m like no. And then after I spoke to the lady in London, she told me
that she tried to get her daughter to call her “umi” as well.

S2S: She’s
met the lady in London?

Mashonda: Yes. I’m glad she’s having her own
child now because now she will have someone to call her “umi”.

S2S: Wow.

Mashonda: Like, if you want to be a stepmother, that’s great. Be a
stepmother. But don’t think that it’s okay to make a kid call you “umi” or
“mommy.”

On why she continues to talk about this if she moved on:

Mashonda: People ask me why am I still talking about this and why don’t
I just leave it alone. I’m like, this is going to help somebody. My story is a
universal thing. This is not just something that only happened to me: This
happens to women every day. Mine was just ugly. If I can help the next woman get
through and be positive, then I’m going to talk about it.

S2S: Were you
guys dating other people before he got with Alicia? Were you guys separated?

Mashonda: We were married. Sleeping in the same bed and having sex every
night while he was seeing Alicia. Okay? It was an affair. 100 percent. I don’t
know why people want to change that rule so much. We had just had a kid, for
crying out loud. Our child was 8 months. I found out about Alicia two days
before my son turned 1. They had been doing their thing for months before that.

I love Alicia and her music but I'm not sure if I like this side of her. All I know is what Mashonda is saying and I believe that Alicia is a bit rude and disrespectful. I want people to stop star worshiping because they are people just like you except they're in the public eye. Just because Alicia sings nice songs and is talented, doesn't mean that she can't break up a home. I also think that people should stop treating Mashonda like she's the mistress because she was with Swizz before he was Swizz.#justsaying.

Does Success Give You a Free Cheating Pass?

Celebs are getting messier and messier by the year. We have reality stars who are paid to be messy, there are singers whose personal lives are getting in the way of their professional lives, and socialites who make their bread and butter off of being messy. In a nutshell, if you're not messy, the American public doesn't want to know about you. 2010 has been a messy year for celebs. Fantasia tried to commit suicide and the biggest rappers ended up in jail. Like I said before, we love messy. Lindsay Lohan is a mess yet the American public can't stop watching.

2010 is also the year of the home wreckers. Fantasia, Alicia Keys, and Gabrielle Union all began relationships with men who were married. Alicia Keys married Swizz Beatz and is expecting a baby only 5 months after his divorce was finalized. You do the math. Gabrielle Union and Dwayne Wade are official after being photographed together for nearly 3 years. And Fantasia is being scrutinized by the media after being sued by her lovers wife and nearly committing suicide. Didn't all three women commit the same offense? They all began relationships with men who were married with children. Why does Alicia and Gabby get a free pass in the mainstream media while Fantasia is left to bear the cross alone?

I have my theory. I believe that it's because Alicia and Gabrielle are more successful and are dating successful men. Stay with me. Alicia is one of the biggest R&B singer ever. She has 13 Grammy awards and numerous platinum records. She has opened #1 movies and is widely respected. Alicia also has more money than any of us will ever see. Her beau is a man, although married with three children only one of who belongs to his former wife, is one of the biggest producers around. Swizz Beatz has produced everyone from Beyonce, Tupac, Lil Wayne, Drake, and Mary J. Blige. He has literally worked with every urban artist who has had a single in the last decade or so. Swizz is successful, respected and rich. This is therefore seen as a union of equals. Gabrielle, although not well known to the mainstream media, is a successful actress. She has starred in at least two movies a year from 1999 to 2008. She is also worth millions of dollars. Dwayne Wade is a multi billion dollar brand. His basketball notoriety is only second to Lebron James. He also has a yearly salary of over $15 million a year. Gabrielle and Alicia are both dating successful men. They are also seen as an upgrade for these men who dated "regular women." Mashonda is a failed R&B singer and Siovaughn Wade is seen as a nutcase and not too attractive.

Let's talk about Fantasia. Her man of choice? A T-mobile salesman from North Carolina. Although he is a real estate agent by trade, lately is only job has been selling phones. He has two children and a wife. Fantasia is an American Idol winner, who can barely read and write, and has had a lot of financial trouble in the last few years. Although she is talented, her star is no where near Alicia's and Gabby's. In the media, all they speak about is Antwan Cook being a T-mobile salesman. Would they give her that much attention if he was a multimillionaire? Would she be seen as an upgrade? Would it even matter if he was successful?

Swizz Beatz Dishes on Upcoming Wedding

Do I really have to say it? He who is without sin throw the first stone. If you're not without sin, then be quiet. It's beautiful when two people find love. Peep the interview via OK!

Swizz Beatz On The Wedding Date
Well its not this weekend!” Swizz Beatz says. ”But you know, were excited. Our union is amazing. Our union is pure. Our union is positive no matter what people say or what people think, time will tell everything and you know, silence is the best thing. We just keep it private and we do our thing and just have fun with it.

On Planning The Wedding
“Yeah, you know, I’m a planner!” he tells OK!. ”I like getting into the detail of things. I’m inspired by fashion, I’m inspired by art, I’m inspired by architectural things so [I like] being involved with the wedding. I’m not the person who sits back and goes, okay, well I’ll just show up. I’m actually spearheading certain plans but it’s a nice blend, a nice partnership.”

On The Wedding Not Being A Gimmick
“Just an amazing day,” he says. “Very intimate. It’s not a superstar wedding. It’s not a gimmicky wedding. It’s a true bond of love, you know, that’s not based on having the most famous person sitting there while you’re doing it. It’s about having the closest people who really understand you as a person and that really have love for you. So it’s a small situation.”

On the New Baby
“I’m very excited about that! Children, you know, they’re a blessing and I’m very excited.” And his older children feel the same way. “They’re excited as well. We keep the energy positive. Everything surrounding kids should always be positive. That’s the number one rule.”

Alicia Keys Gets Unborn Baby Blessed

Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz were in South Africa where they had a traditional Zulu ceremony to bless their unborn child. Alicia's mother and brother were among the 50 who showed up to watch the ceremony. Alicia is currently 5 months pregnant and the couple are due to get married on July 4.

Wearing tribal beads, Alicia and her baby were given Zulu names while standing under a fig tree known as the ‘healing tree’ by locals who believe it brings good fortune and health. ‘Two female priests who practice a mix of Christianity and tribal custom chose new names for her and the unborn child, as a mark of respect. The names were kept between them, but were chosen to reflect Alicia’s character.

‘Alicia had to do a special dance with drums banging in the background, and was embraced by abused children who she has helped. She was chosen for the ceremony as a thank-you, because she has done a lot to keep children’s lives afloat and for us to afford our support staff.

‘Her partner came too – he held her hand and helped her sit down when she needed rest.’

Alicia’s mother and brother were among a crowd of around 50 people who watched her by the tree where Bobbi Bear runs a weekly HIV clinic.

Alica Keys Calls Pregnancy Gift From God

Remember what we said last time, he who is without sin. Alicia Keys recently gave The Mirror her first interview about her pregnancy and here are her comments:

Speaking to The Mirror about her baby bump the Empire State singer said: “I can’t wait to become a mum. No question.
“It’s the most beautiful gift in the world. Truly a gift from God. I have an amazing mother – she is a best friend to me. And I would like to be the same to my child.”
She told the tabloid: “Adopting is definitely not out of the question. I would love to figure out the ways that could work for me.
“I felt I wanted to scoop up the children I met in Africa and take them home. At this point I kinda feel I have amazing brothers and sisters in Africa.”

I won't throw shade at Ms. Keys because all babies are gifts from God. That. Is. All.

He who is without sin....

I start this post with that quote because I know more than a few people will try to throw stones at Alicia Keys and Swizz Beats. Their rep has just confirmed what the blogosphere has been buzzing about for months, Alicia Keys and Swizz beats are expecting their first child and will be getting married on July 4. This statement was issued to people mag via people: "Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz are expecting a baby and are engaged to be married in a private ceremony later this year. They're very happy."

The ink on Swizz Beats' divorce from Mashonda is barely dry and he's already engaged. We know she is going to have a few choice words about this. Like I said before, he who is without sin.

Alicia Keys is no longer a mistress

Swiss Beats and Alicia Keys can breath a bit easier now because Swizz' divorce from Mashonda is finalized. The pair, who married in 2004 and have two children have been going through a messy divorce for two years during which Swizz started a relationship with Alicia Keys. Mashonda is said to be working on a tell all book with author Aliya S. King. Good luck to them.
