We love everyone. We love our significant other, our family, friends, job, dog, house, car, etc-everything but ourselves. When it comes to loving ourselves, we find it extremely hard. We believe that we must be perfect in order to be loved. We fall into societal beliefs which tell us that if we're a certain size, have these clothes, this job, look like this, etc we'll be perfect and happy. There are no perfect people. Everyone has insecurities and flaws. Last week, I went to a meeting about a photo shoot and the photographer showed me several pictures that were retouched to have a more feminine shape, to make make up more noticeable and to create overall perfection. A lot of the perfection you see is illusion.
We're not illusions, we're real people. We have flaws and things about us that we don't like. We have to make peace with those things. We have to love ourselves completely. This means loving the diva and the fool inside of you. One day, take a mirror and look at yourself and write what you love and dislike about yourself. Everything in the dislike column, write what you can do to change it and if you can't, write what you can to learn to accept them.
