Should Women Be Called Hoes?

Double Standards. Very few of us like them but they're a reality of life. No matter how "liberated" a woman may be, she is still at liberty to be called a hoe or whatever the new name for a promiscuous woman may be. It's well known that men are allowed to have as many concubines as he wants but a woman may be killed for having one. In the famous book, The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne, a woman was made to wear a red A for adulterer after giving birth to a married reverends child. Clearly the village knew who the father was but he was allowed to integrate into society with few consequences. In the book of Luke, a woman is brought to Jesus to be stoned after getting caught in the act of adultery. Yes people, they caught her having sex. They knew who the man was but only this woman was being stoned. The bible makes no further mention of the man. If you think this is too long ago to be relevant today, do I really have to remind you that they still stone for adultery in the middle east. In 2009, a young woman was stoned for adultery after giving birth to a still born baby. The woman was killed while the man was given 100 lashes. We could go on and on but you get the point: if you're committing these acts, please be prepared to die alone.
While that may be an extreme, the woman is socially crucified while the man, or men, go on to live very normal lives. Men are seen as unable to control their sexual desires, so they get a free pass. Do you wonder where table clothes originate? It's not because some woman in the 1800's wanted to keep her table clean. It was because men were viewed as being aroused by any legs, even wooden carved legs, so the legs had to be covered up to prevent them from being aroused. As crazy as it sounds, that's how people think. Men are allowed to sew the royal oats while women are expected to sit home and raise babies. Many feminists refuse to buy into that thinking but it still rings true today. The role of women, in many religions and societies, is to be seen and not heard. She is behind the scenes supporting her husband and keeping house. Women are expected to be docile and quiet. A woman who breaks these rules is seen as a trouble maker and has to be gotten rid of.
Back to the question at hand: should women be called hoes. As a woman, I don't like the double standard but its not something that is going away. Women are still crucified alone. After Karrine Steffans, who famously goes by the name Superhead, released Diary of a Video Vixen, everyone, male and female wanted her head, no pun intended. She was seen as the home wrecker who went after these men even though she knew they were married with children. She decided to ruin families. And although her reputation is bad, she still manages to keep a roster of men, including current husband Darius McCray who although there has been public insanity still remains by her side. The sex must be good.
Sexual promiscuity is rampant in todays culture and it's easier for men to play than women. If you're involved in that lifestyle be prepared to be crucified alone. These men rarely care about the woman they're sleeping with and will not go an a limb for you. If you get an STD, pregnant, or a bad reputation, look to where he was once standing and notice he's gone. Women will be called harlots, hoes, sluts, whores, tramps, and whatever other names they think of until the world is swept away. Women will never be sexually equal to men.
