If you've been following me, you know that I am taking up running and that sometimes it gets difficult. Today, I was at the track near my house and I wanted to take a quick rest during my running lap and the man passing by me said "keep going." That was all I needed. I was so inspired that I did 5 running laps with four of them being back to back. Was it easy? No, my calf muscles are killing me but it does something to me. It inspires me.
I get bored easy and that oftem times means I start something new a lot but rarely do I finish anything. When I started three weeks ago, I knew I wanted to finish but it takes a lot to keep going. When I'm running, I often tell myself "you got it girl" or "two more, keep going" or my favorite "you've done more laps than you have to finish." I also remind myself that I'm not quitting. I'm not allowed to quit, that option is dead. I only have one option.
Although you may not have a random person on the track encouraging you, that doesn't mean you can't encourage yourself. The road between hard work and reward is often a lonely one. The road is littered with quitters and resters who have yet to get back up and while it's okay to rest every once in a while, rest for too long and you'll lose motivation. The road may be hard but keep going. If it was easy, everyone would have it. I have included "Don't Quit" for your inspiration. Keep going, we're in this together.
