Have you heard the adage that if we're not careful, we'll look up one day and segregation will be reinstated? Well, Wake County, North Carolina, has voted 5-4 to end busing for diversity which has been in place since the early 70's. The long term effects of ending busing has yet to be seen but there are mixed feelings on the vote. In my opinion, I kind of agree with the board because if it's been 40 years and they still have to bus students to other districts for diversity, then it's not working. I just hope we don't revert back to segregation. Although we have a black president, he can still be impeached, so don't rest on this post racial idea.
