If you follow urban entertainment, you know that Nas and Kelis have been in and out of court over child support payments. Nas, who is said to make $152,031 a month, has been ordered to pay Kelis $44,000 a month in child support. Recently, Nas fell behind on his payments and was ordered to pay Kelis $300,000 in back child support. In addition, Nas has been asked to pay Kelis $10,000 in spousal support. It really takes $54,000 a month to support yourself and a child? That's someone's yearly salary and I know people who do it successfully on about $51,000 less. I'm just saying.
Anyway, Nas is asking the judge in his divorce case to review his income. He states that he makes far less than the 100 + thou that the original decision was based on.
Nas’ attorney, Mark Vincent Kaplan, says he would like the judge to reexamine the damage that could be done to the rapper’s finances.
Nas and Kelis tied the knot in 2005. Kelis filed for divorce in April 2009, and gave birth to the couple’s first child — a son named Knight — last July.
I don't know what to tell you Nas, better get another job or a better lawyer, better yet, Tyrese' lawyer.
