Rita Ora and Rihanna

The blogosphere has been abuzz with rumors of Jay-Z setting Rita Ora up to replace Rihanna. Who is Rita Ora? She's a British singer, who looks black but is of middle eastern descent, who has been on Roc Nation for two years, looks like a mix of Beyonce and Rihanna, Beyana as someone put it, and is in good with the boss. Rita has a personal relationship with Beyonce and Jay-Z, both of whom mentor her. Rita has even said that Beyonce listens to her album and gives her feedback. Does Beyonce do that for anyone not in Destiny's Child? Rita is also the only artist that Jay-Z has personally introduced to the world. Last week, he walked her into the biggest radio station in the country to debut her single "Party and Bull%*(." Jay-Z did not do that for Rihanna. He barely acknowledged Rihanna publicly until she started doing well. Either Jay-Z really believes in Rita or has a different type of relationship with her.

Where is Rihanna at with her career? Rihanna, although one of the biggest stars in the world, is noticeably on the decline. I, personally, feel that Rihanna was at her best during the Loud era and now seems to be just okay.  Her singles are doing well but on the personal front, Rihanna is struggling. She is exhausted, allegedly using drugs and alcohol, and she has told the powers to be to eff off. Rumor is that Jay-Z went out of his way to help Rihanna after her incident with Chris Brown and is angry that she is throwing away all of his hard work by reconciling with Chris Brown. Rihanna is doing what she wants to do and that's never a good sign in the music industry. Rihanna is a rebel, which is fine for her image, but she's becoming too rebellious and I do believe that Jay-Z is sending her a message by bringing Rita Ora into the forefront.

I know that people believe that the stans sustain an artist, but it's unbelievably easy to ruin an artist. All Jay-Z has to do is ask the radio and TV stations to swap Rihanna's music for Rita's and ask the press to report on Rita instead of Rihanna and voila, it's Rihanna who? It's not that hard. I believe one of the reasons why Beyonce has remained so successful is because she's played by the rules. She understands that the powers at hand could easily take everything from her. Rihanna doesn't understand that. Rihanna better get in line before she finds herself irrelevant. I don't know if Rita will replace Rihanna but I do know she has the perfect stats to replace Rihanna. Rita's debut single sounds like something that was made for Rihanna. This girl is Rihanna 2.0 and Rihanna better pay attention and get it together ASAP.
