Bank Of America Rant

(luxuo.com)

Bank of America is really trying it. For all those not accustomed to Baltimore high school slang, that means when someone or something does something insulting or demeaning. Bank of America has really tried it for months. First they charge $5 debit card fees and now along with the state of South Carolina, Bof A is charging fees on unemployment. Of course people are outraged. You have people who depend on every dollar of their unemployment benefits to survive who are losing money. BofA is not broke by any means. They cry broke as a justification for laying off thousands of people and charging astronomical fees but make no mistake, BoA is the fifth most profitable business in America. Not bank, but business.

The rachetness that BoA is involved in now is taking fees from unemployment benefits. Writing that makes me upset. It's like how dare you? These people make half of their salary and can barely scrap by on that and now you want to take more? When I worked as a cashier, I noticed that 60% of the debit cards were BoA cards. I made a mental note of it because of the $5 debit card fee, which they have revoked because of bad PR. BoA's greed is remarkable and should be noted. They have charged fees for crappy customer service. It's amazing what they get away with. BoA's interest is a joke. They charge $11 in bank fees and credit the account a penny. It's a joke and it's insulting. They should keep the penny.

I think I may have to go the old school way of banking and hold it myself. In fact, I think that may be smarter. Yes, it won't gain interest in your home but the interest is a joke. Yes, there is also chance that you may be robbed but either way you're getting robbed. The difference is the robbers take it all at once and the banks take it bit by bit and once you realize you've been robbed it's too late. The banks, and big business, depend on the inertia of people to get away with things. The more proactive you are, the less chance you have of getting screwed.
