Basketball Wives LA Rundown

I didn't do weekly thoughts/recaps like I do with the RHOA and BFV because I don't care enough about the Basketball Hoes of LA but now that the season is wrapped, I can give you random thoughts.
  1. This is the first thing that really piqued my interest, and it's not blatantly obvious but what happened with Gloria and Laura?  For Gloria to go so hard for her sister, who if I'm not mistaken is several years older than her and can take care of herself, they hardly interact. Whenever they're in a scene, it's with their mother or the other girls and even then they hardly talk to each other. In this season, I think they had one scene together, if that. I also thought it was weird that Imani had Laura's stuff in her house but Gloria with her big house, didn't help her sister out. When the original Basketball Wives first started airing, the big drama was with Laura sleeping with Shaq and that Gloria was her sister, in an interview, Shaunie said that she was shocked that Gloria went so hard for Laura considering that Laura didn't really like Gloria and talked about her like a dog. Take that tea how you want.
  2. Imani forgot where she came from. Imani did too much with her hatred of Draya. She called her worthless and just insulted her. I think it's because Draya clocked Imani's tea, she called her out, when they first met and she didn't like that. When she said Draya would never have a house, I thought the only reason you have a house is from sick ducking, decipher it on your own. Most Basketball Wives pretend to be real estate agents or models but I have never heard Imani claim to have any type of job, so how did she get a house?
  3. Why did Jackie do this show? Is it because she wanted to dispel rumors that she's crazy? Is it because she wanted to prove she was the first lady of the NBA? Why did she want to do this show? All this does is confirm her insanity.
  4. I wish I could ask why Draya did this show but I know why she did it, she needed the money. The women went so hard on Draya when they had so much dirt. Imani had a son that she abandoned to run after her man, Jackie has a daughter that she all but abandoned, Laura should have been all but invisible, she has more dirt than everyone at the table, if Draya wanted to read someone, it should have been Laura: she slept with Shaq, she has 4 kids no commitment, her baby father abandoned her, it just goes on, and now it comes to light that Gloria is an undercover hoe. None of them have room to talk about Draya just because she's been open about her exploits. She could have easily read all of them.
  5. Why did Draya feel that she had to justify herself to these women, who she has never met and who has never paid a bill for her? She should have told Imani to have a stadium full of seats. Yes, she  left her son in a poorly kept house while she was stripping, but the only person she owes an explanation to is her son, not these bitter women.
  6. Why is Gloria trying so hard to be Shaunie 2.0? I understand she wants things but girl. Also, how did she convince Matt to let the show portray the break up like it was her doing? We know that Matt can drop Gloria and pick her up anytime he wants. She is ol' faithful, you know the one he can always call and she'll be there. The only reason she's pretending not to care about him is because he has found something better in Eva Longoria. She won't hear from Matt for a long time.
  7. Jackie and her 17 weddings. I almost forgot about her crying about her mom not being able to attend her what 20th wedding. Doug was her third marriage, so she's had 20 weddings. Her mom has seen her get married 20 times, something was fishy about that. Turns out Jackie was playing it up for the cameras. I would have stopped attending her weddings years ago, maybe I would have went to the reception for the food and the party, but I don't need to see her and Doug renew their vows every year.
  8. Jackie, I say this with love but NO ONE WANTS DOUG. He's a retired, semi-bench warmer basketball player. He wasn't MJ, Kobe, Lebron, Magic any of these people. Yes, he made some nice money but he's not all that. In fact, he's more famous for your exploits than his court skills. I also heard he was bounced around so much because no one really wanted to deal with you. That's an issue. Jackie, do us and Doug a favor and release the leash because no one is checking for him.
  9. This wasn't apart of the show, but Jackie said that the reason her daughter disliked her was because she was jealous of her other daughter who was light skinned. How did she convince herself of that? It seems a lot deeper than light skin/dark skin issues and no one believes her.  According to her daughter, Jackie was so busy running after Doug that she abandoned her and her family, including the mother she cried so hard for. Jackie is phony.
  10. Is this Survivor? I didn't know the girls had the power to vote someone off the island, literally and figuratively. They think they voted Jackie off the island but anytime the person you're banishing makes you wait 10 minutes while they order a drink, you've lost all your power. Jackie isn't worried about you. Bet, she'll be back next season daring them to say something.
  11. Who is this Gossip Girl character they have calling everyone relaying she said-she said information? A vlogger said it was Suzie, which wouldn't shock me, but it's more than likely a producer. There's this mystery person calling various cast members relaying gossip like, Draya was talking about Laura's kids and Jackie's shenanigans. This is such a blatant attempt at creating drama, I'm surprised more people can't see through it.
  12. I almost forgot about Laura's kids. Not really her kids but in a round-a-bout way. First, who was watching the kids? Laura was a single mother with no income, who was watching her kids? How did she get the luxury of shopping and going to nice dinners while her four kids were heaven knows where? Second, Laura gave birth 3 weeks before the show started filming. Yes, three weeks. The doctor usually recommends 6 weeks before doing any strenuous activity but Laura was fighting and paint balling right after delivery. Again, shouldn't she be spending time with her newborn baby and her other kids, who are going through a difficult time now that they've moved 3,000 miles away from their and dad is gone without a trace? Not to insult anyone's mothering skills but that's not exactly mother of the year material.
  13. Word on the street is that Laura and Draya share something besides this show in common. The blogs are saying that Gilbert and Draya used to get it in and that's the reason Laura doesn't like Draya . Gilbert paid Draya $20,000 in hush money, I'm guessing because she was underage and because he's the father of her son. Another thing they have in common is poor negotiating skills, Laura because Gilbert keeps putting her out without a pot to piss in and Draya because the ball was in her court, she could have, and should have, gotten a lot more than $20,000.
  14. Since the last 3 points have been about Laura, let's end with Laura. If you keep up with this show, you'll know that Laura and Gilbert are now back together and getting married. Well, he gave her a ring. I hope Laura learns something from the last time Gilbert abandoned her and their kids. I hope she takes some of that shopping money and opens an account so she'll have a cushion to fall back on when he leaves her again. Yes, I said again. The last time Gilbert put her out wasn't the first time and I'm sure it won't be the last time. The only way he would change is if there were real consequences for his behavior and there probably were none. I'm sure she was so happy not to have the burden of supporting five people on her own, that she happily hopped a plane to Orlando. Gilbert doesn't love or respect her because if he did, he wouldn't abandon her and her kids. He would be too afraid of losing but there is no fear of that because she's proven that he can do as he pleases and she'll still be there.
